The Boca Raton Symphonia Allegro Society Host "Ocean Breezes And Classical Music"

THE WOMEN’S VOLUNTEER AUXILIARY’S PREMIERE FUNDRAISING LUNCHEON FEATURING PERFORMANCES BY A BOCA RATON SYMPHONIA ENSEMBLE

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2010

The Boca Raton Symphonia Allegro Society is hosting Ocean Breezes and Classical Music, its first fundraising luncheon to be held at the Delray Beach Club on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. The inaugural event presented by newly formed women’s volunteer and auxiliary group whose mission is to promote and broaden the Symphonia’s musical and cultural presence in the Greater Boca Raton community will feature performances by members of the Boca Raton Symphonia, commentary by WXEL Host and Producer Joanna Marie and the Boca Raton Symphonia’s Jeff Kaye, a raffle and much more. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward supporting the Boca Symphonia educational and musical programming. Recognized by critics as a gem of an orchestra, now in its sixth year, the mission of the Boca Raton Symphonia, Boca’s “world class orchestra,” is to perform and to make accessible classical music through concert performances and educational outreach programs featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists.

Since its inception in the spring of 2010, the Allegro Society has helped the Boca Raton Symphonia attain a record 450 subscriptions (670 households) for the 2010-2011 Connoisseur Concert Series which features the orchestra’s new internationally-renowned Principal Conductor and Piano Soloist Philippe Entremont, one of the most recorded artists of all time who has served as music director of Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, New Orleans Philharmonic, and the Denver Symphony; accomplished Guests Conductors Gunther Schuller and David Commanday. Concert soloists for this season include Itzhak Perlman protégé and cellist Sujin Lee, mezzo soprano Daniela Mack, violinist Ludwig Mueller, cellist Christophe Pantillon, and pianist Soyeon Lee.
