BOCA RATON, FL (October 18, 2011)— Music lovers unite on the penthouse level of the Boca Raton Bridge Hotel where every Wednesday through November live jazz, bossa and blues are played at Carmen’s At The Top Of The Bridge ; from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Thousands are expected to join in the fun and be part of this family friendly all-inclusive community opening ceremony in and about Sanborn Square - at the heart of the new Pedestrian Promenade - as together they dance through the Promenade led by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio instructors and celebrity dance leaders. A $500 prize will be given to the school with the most participants, including students, parents, and fans; a minimum of 25 is required.

"Put on Your Pink Bra" And Register To Participate In This Year's
10th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
That Kicks Off Meet Me On The Promenade: Downtown Boca On Saturday Morning Oct. 22nd
The American Cancer Society encourages residents, businesses and visitors to participate in its non-competitive, fundraising 5K walk initiating the all-day Meet Me On The Promenade event in Downtown Boca October 22nd. The walk will be routed throughout Downtown Boca to raise money to fund breast cancer research and educate the community about the importance of early detection and prevention.
Participants will need more than sneakers for this year’s walk, as they are encouraged to “Put on Your Pink Bra.”  The Put on Your Pink Bra campaign empowers walkers to wear pink bras in support of the fight against breast cancer.  All across the state, walkers will sport pink bras to represent a personal breast cancer journey or the journey of a survivor they know.

The centerpiece of the Meet Me On The Promenade: Downtown Boca Family Zone sponsored by Office Depot Foundation will be a display of NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart’s #14 show car, along with opportunities for memorable photo taking and giveaways.
A major feature of the Family Zone will be an exhibition presented by the Boca Raton Children's Museum at the southeast corner of Sanborn Square that has been created by Museum Imagineer Adrian St. Cyr of Boston Tombs and Washington D.C.  Spy Museum fame. Here, children will be able to climb aboard the Pirate Ship, SS Mae Volen, with the background stage set by gigantic drawings of the Children's Museum's buildings.  Family entertainment will be all about pirates with a cannon shoot, face painting, games and other activities that include "pirate hat designing" sponsored by South Florida Parenting...aargh! Dancin’ In the Street Promenade Festival Wrap Party
All South Florida residents are invited to come rock to “Music Through the Decades” as Solid Gold performs at Meet Me on the Promenade: Downtown Boca Saturday, October 22nd. Dance to ‘50s Rock, ‘60s Motown, and ‘70s Disco from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and continue dancin’ in the street from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with music from the ‘80s, ‘90s and today. Don’t miss the Future Stars performance from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
