BOCA RATON, FLA. (January 14,
2014) – Glenn E. Gromann, President of Center
Realty Associates/Prestige
International Realty (Center) announced plans today to promote the benefits
and advantages of bringing Major League
Baseball (MLB) Spring Training to Boca
Raton in support of major economic development objectives and
infrastructure in the area. This includes garnering support and funding for a
proposed SFRTA Tri-Rail station by the Boca Center retail/hotel/office complex
in the Town Center area and seeking to involve Florida
Atlantic University (FAU) and the NCAA
in the overall baseball initiative.
In order to support these
initiatives, Gromann and Center have formed a strategic relationship with Kaye Communications, Inc. (KCOM), an
integrated public relations and marketing firm that designs and implements
regional and national broad-based communications programs for corporations,
retail and mixed-use lifestyle destinations, hotels/resorts/private clubs and
restaurants, entertainment companies, cultural arts venues, sports
organizations, healthcare providers, real estate development firms,
professional service firms and government agencies.
Gromann is seeking to “bring new
and low intensity uses, such as MLB Spring Training, which complement the
existing City/FAU recreation and sports infrastructure and to provide a
value-added benefit and draw to existing office, hospitality and retail
components in the area.”
He notes that Kaye
Communications is no stranger to the City of Boca Raton, its stakeholders and
assets, having been tapped by the Boca Raton CRA to conceive its revitalized “Downtown Boca” destination branding and
then implement its marketing, community engagement, alliance-building and media
relations program for several years.
“In fact, I don’t know any other
PR professionals that have had more impact on more Boca Raton brands than Jon
and Bonne Kaye and their firm,” added Gromann. “Their reach and established
relationships are deep and broad, from tourism, sports, business advocacy and
economic development organizations to community-driven grassroots, educational,
residential and nonprofit groups.”
Other regional iconic brands
Kaye Communications has long impacted since its inception 18 years ago include
the Boca Raton Resort & Club; the Allianz Championship, a PGA Champions
Tour event; Town Center at Boca Raton; Royal Palm Place; Broken Sound Club;
Boca Raton Bridge Hotel; Promise Healthcare; Penn-Florida Companies, the
Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at FAU, Palm Beach International Film
Festival, and even Countess de Hoernle’s 100th milestone birthday
celebration. National brands that have tapped Kaye Communications for
regional debuts and re-inventions, have included Cartier, Muvico Theaters,
Loews Hotels, California Pizza Kitchen, and Boston Market.
The potential economic benefits
MLB Spring Training could bring to the City are significant and exponential,
cites Gromann. “We are talking about a potential $50 million initial investment
or more in infrastructure and potential economic impact of $60 million annually.
Boca Raton, which already hosts the Allianz Championship PGA Champions Tour
event and which has a burgeoning athletic initiative underway at FAU, should be
a natural destination site choice for MLB Spring Training.”
Gromann continued by adding that
Boca Raton is one of the best managed cities in the country with the Mayor and
City Council working well together along with the City Manager’s office and
City Staff among some of the best around. An internationally recognized locale
with easy access from airports and major thoroughfares, “Boca has kept taxes
low and credit ratings high. The CRA has done a fantastic job with the Downtown
Boca area with roadway and other improvements,” indicates Gromann. “Now
it is time for us to look at baseball.”
