BOCA RATON, FL (January 11, 2009)--The officers and board of directors for The Haven, a group home for adolescent boys who are placed in protective care by the State of Florida, has appointed Guy Fronstin, Esq. of the Law Offices of Guy Fronstin, and Neil Meany, Director of Tiffany And Co. at Boca Raton to serve as directors for a three-year term. The announcement was made by Don Stewart, executive director of The Haven.
Active and loyal supporters of The Haven, Fronstin and Meany served as Advisory Board Members prior to their board appointment. They now join The Haven Board Chairman: Thomas C. Smith, Second Vice President, Wealth Management, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Board Vice Chairman: Mark Mileusnic, Chief Customer Operations Officer, NCCI Holdings , Secretary/Treasurer: David Burns, Managing Director, Cross Keys Capital; and Member-at-Large Roger Clark, Major Accounts Director, Forum Publishing Group, along with board members Mary Kelly, President, Personal Senior Services, Inc.; Matt Kutcher, Director, Private Banking, USA Credit Suisse Private Banking; Donn Londeree, Vice President, BNY Mellon Bank; Paul Mack, President, The Mack Group, Inc.; and Barbara Sosnowitz, Ph. D., ACSW, adjunct faculty at Florida Atlantic University. Honorary board members include: Michael Daszkal, CPA of Daszkal Bolton, LLP; Immediate Past Chairman Seth Ellis, Esq. of Ellis, Hodes & Goldberg; Maurice Schwarz, a retired executive, Norman Shapiro, a retired executive, and Roxanna Trinka of Baseline Engineering & Land Surveying.
Fronstin, whose firm concentrates on criminal defense, is one of Florida’s leading trial lawyers with more than 16 years of in-court experience. A former Criminal Prosecutor for Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, Fronstin was appointed as a special prosecutor for conflict cases and also served as a staff attorney for National Association of Security Dealers (NASD). Respected for his legal acumen and support of humanitarian causes, Fronstin will be presented the prestigious Jurisprudence Award by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on March 10, 2010, serves on the board of the City of Boca Raton’s Police Athletic League (PAL), and has provided pro bono legal counsel to more than 60 clients who were victimized by the Bernard Madoff investment scandal.
Meany, who has been with Tiffany and Company since October 2008, is the Store Director for the retailer’s Boca Raton location. Prior to joining Tiffany and Company, Meany worked for Bailey Banks & Biddle Fine Jewelers where he was a Store Manager for three years in Merritt Island, Orlando and Clearwater before becoming a Regional Manager for more than nine years, for stores in the Northeast, Southeast, and Florida & Puerto Rico. In addition to The Haven, Meany’s community involvements include Make-A-Wish (2004 to Present) in Clearwater, FL where he has served as Chairperson for the Make-A-Wish Legends of Baseball Game & Auction in partnership with the Clearwater Threshers Baseball Team.

Smith added that the board is proud of The Haven’s management team for recently receiving its fifth consecutive four-star rating (the highest rating possible) from The Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator. The Charity Navigator utilizes a rating system that examines two broad areas of a charity's financial health -- how responsibly it functions day to day (i.e. program expenses, administrative expenses, fundraising expenses, and fundraising efficiency) as well as how well positioned it is to sustain its programs over time.
